CRYTIC SPACES : EIGHT QUEENS by DEEN FERRELL

What can I say, I love the book! I give it a 5 out of 5 stars and yes, it is filled with adventures and fun. A little love story is also there and I am shipping Willoughby and Sydney so hard! Deen Ferrell has an amazing talent to make me get to the read fast and be like : OH HELL NO!

One thing about this book is that the adventure is so detailed and there wouldn't be a time where you wouldn't understand the scene. I will be very happy to review any of Deen Ferrell's books and especially from Cryptic Spaces.

It's like a math class with a lot of adventure and this time, you wouldn't fall asleep in this math class.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SYNOPSIS

The Absconditus crew is dead and its murderous hijackers have been drowned in the sea -- well, mostly. True, the ship is sitting on the bottom of the ocean, but Willoughby has already had to face one of its hijacker goons as a white-eyed zombie. What if there are others? There is little time to consider as every passing hour brings him new challenges. He must find his friends, Antonio and T.K., lost somewhere in the sands of time. He must save James Arthur from the threat of a mysterious scar-faced witch. He must find out what the self-proclaimed Demon Lord, Beelzebub, really wants, and figure out a way to thwart him. He needs to come to terms with his growing feelings for Sydney, whose idea of a rough day is trying to fit 189 designer accessories into a single yacht closet. From the snow capped peaks of the Andes, to the center of the Bermuda triangle, from the Minsk Theater in St. Petersburg, Russia, to The Treasury in Petra, Jordan, the action never stops in this riveting sequel to the award winning Cryptic Spaces: Foresight. Adventure has a new game-and winning is so much more than just staying alive.

And for the third and final book...

                    22840398

ILLISIONARIUM by HEATHER DIXON

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SYNOPSIS

What if the world holds more dangers—and more wonders—than we have ever known? And what if there is more than one world? From Heather Dixon, author of the acclaimed Entwined, comes a brilliantly conceived adventure that sweeps us from the inner workings of our souls to the far reaches of our imaginations.

Jonathan is perfectly ordinary. But then—as every good adventure begins—the king swoops into port, and Jonathan and his father are enlisted to find the cure to a deadly plague. Jonathan discovers that he's a prodigy at working with a new chemical called fantillium, which creates shared hallucinations—or illusions. And just like that, Jonathan is knocked off his path. Through richly developed parallel worlds, vivid action, a healthy dose of humor, and gorgeous writing, Heather Dixon spins a story that calls to mind The Night Circus and Pixar movies, but is wholly its own.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MY OPINION

I think I would love to pick this up but yeah, it's gonna be hard and the same goes to every book that I want to read but end up not getting it.
I'm quite intrigued by the synopsis. Mystery in it and everything else. Plus, the synopsis didn't say anything about the woman who's part of the cover of the book and they say it has some romance plus mystery in it. So, this might be my cup of tea.

YAHOO YA - THE ISLE OF THE LOST by MELISSA DE LA CRUZ

HI GUYS! What's up? I'm Genie and I'm back with another post! Gosh, it has been long since I've done YAHOO YA and I'm happy to haul 3 awesome books to you!

The first one is...

                      22639095

THE ISLE OF THE LOST (THE DESCENDANTS #1) by MELISSA DE LA CRUZ

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SYNOPSIS

Twenty years ago, all the evil villains were banished from the kingdom of Auradon and made to live in virtual imprisonment on the Isle of the Lost. The island is surrounded by a magical force field that keeps the villains and their descendants safely locked up and away from the mainland. Life on the island is dark and dreary. It is a dirty, decrepit place that's been left to rot and forgotten by the world.

But hidden in the mysterious Forbidden Fortress is a dragon's eye: the key to true darkness and the villains' only hope of escape. Only the cleverest, evilest, nastiest little villain can find it...who will it be?

Maleficent, Mistress of the Dark: As the self-proclaimed ruler of the isle, Maleficent has no tolerance for anything less than pure evil. She has little time for her subjects, who have still not mastered life without magic. Her only concern is getting off the Isle of the Lost.

Mal: At sixteen, Maleficent's daughter is the most talented student at Dragon Hall, best known for her evil schemes. And when she hears about the dragon's eye, Mal thinks this could be her chance to prove herself as the cruelest of them all.

Evie: Having been castle-schooled for years, Evil Queen's daughter, Evie, doesn't know the ins and outs of Dragon Hall. But she's a quick study, especially after she falls for one too many of Mal's little tricks.

Jay: As the son of Jafar, Jay is a boy of many talents: stealing and lying to name a few. Jay and Mal have been frenemies forever and he's not about to miss out on the hunt for the dragon's eye.

Carlos: Cruella de Vil's son may not be bravest, but he's certainly clever. Carlos's inventions may be the missing piece in locating the dragon's eye and ending the banishment for good.

Mal soon learns from her mother that the dragon's eye is cursed and whoever retrieves it will be knocked into a deep sleep for a thousand years. But Mal has a plan to capture it. She'll just need a little help from her "friends." In their quest for the dragon's eye, these kids begin to realize that just because you come from an evil family tree, being good ain't so bad.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MY OPINION

I think this is a great book to read. Also, it's genre also contains middle grade. I also heard this book would be turned into a TV show and since I am a Disney fan (not ashamed to admit it even though I'm 15 years old), I think I might like this book.

Of course, I've heard mixed reviews about this book. But actually, I don't feel that interested by reading the synopsis but thank goodness there is a beautiful cover. Like magnet, it pulled me. So, I'm looking forward into reading this book.

The next book is...

                     23281652

DAUGHTER OF DEEP SILENCE by CARRIE RYAN

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SYNOPSIS

I’m the daughter of murdered parents.
I’m the friend of a dead girl.
I’m the lover of my enemy.
And I will have my revenge.

In the wake of the devastating destruction of the luxury yacht Persephone, just three souls remain to tell its story—and two of them are lying. Only Frances Mace knows the terrifying truth, and she’ll stop at nothing to avenge the murders of everyone she held dear. Even if it means taking down the boy she loves and possibly losing herself in the process.

Sharp and incisive, Daughter of Deep Silence by bestselling author Carrie Ryan is a deliciously smart revenge thriller that examines perceptions of identity, love, and the lengths to which one girl is willing to go when she thinks she has nothing to lose.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MY OPINION

I actually love the synopsis and I'm actually in the mood of thriller so this might be my cup of tea. But, as I was scrolling down the comments, there were mixed reviews about this book but mostly good ones. You know what, you'll never know how it is until you've read it.

BOOKIE LOOKIE - ALL THE BRIGHT PLACES by JENNIFER NIVEN

HI GUYS! I'm back with another post and today I want to show you a book I've been dying to get.

                    18460392

ALL THE BRIGHT PLACES by JENNIFER NIVEN

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SYNOPSIS

The Fault in Our Stars meets Eleanor and Park in this exhilarating and heart-wrenching love story about a girl who learns to live from a boy who intends to die.
Soon to be a major motion picture starring Elle Fanning!

Theodore Finch is fascinated by death, and he constantly thinks of ways he might kill himself. But each time, something good, no matter how small, stops him.

Violet Markey lives for the future, counting the days until graduation, when she can escape her Indiana town and her aching grief in the wake of her sister’s recent death.

When Finch and Violet meet on the ledge of the bell tower at school, it’s unclear who saves whom. And when they pair up on a project to discover the “natural wonders” of their state, both Finch and Violet make more important discoveries: It’s only with Violet that Finch can be himself—a weird, funny, live-out-loud guy who’s not such a freak after all. And it’s only with Finch that Violet can forget to count away the days and start living them. But as Violet’s world grows, Finch’s begins to shrink.

This is an intense, gripping novel perfect for fans of Jay Asher, Rainbow Rowell, John Green, Gayle Forman, and Jenny Downham from a talented new voice in YA, Jennifer Niven.

OFF THE PAGE (BETWEEN THE LINES #2) by JODI PICOULT & SAMANTHA VAN LEER

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From #1 New York Times bestselling authors Jodi Picoult and her daughter and co-writer, Samantha van Leer, comes OFF THE PAGE, a tender and appealing romantic YA novel filled with humor, adventure, and magical relationships.

Sixteen-year-old Delilah is finally united with Oliver—a prince literally taken from the pages of a fairy tale. There are, however, complications now that Oliver has been able to enter the real world. To exist in Delilah’s world, Oliver must take the place of a regular boy. Enter Edgar, who agrees to take Oliver’s role in Delilah’s favorite book. In this multilayered universe, the line between what is on the page and what is possible is blurred, but all must be resolved for the characters to live happily ever after. Includes twelve full-color illustrations, and black-and-white decorations throughout.

Full of humor and witty commentary about life, OFF THE PAGE is a stand-alone novel as well as a companion to the authors’ bestseller Between the Lines, and is perfect for readers looking for a fairytale ending. Fans of Sarah Dessen and Meg Cabot are sure to appreciate this novel about love, romance, and relationships.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My Opinion

I have hears so many amazing things about this book. Lots of good reviews. This is a stand-alone novel and a companion series I guess. You don't have to read Between The Pages in order to read this book but some says if you read the first book, it'll be a super help... it's your choice. If it were me, I'd totally read this first.

I'm intrugued by this book's synopsis. It's almost like Enchanted but this time, the Prince gets pulled to the Real World. I am hoping to read this, if my Dad lets me buy this book.

There is also a YouTube channel for this novel. I'll make sure to put a link at the end of the post.

BOOKIE LOOKIE -CITY OF SAVAGES by LEE KELLY

HI EVERYONE! How are you today? My name is Genie and welcome to today's BOOKIE LOOKIE. The book that I want to haul to you is...

                    22556945

CITY OF SAVAGES by LEE KELLY

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SYNOPSIS

After the Red Allies turn New York City into a POW camp, two sisters must decipher the past in order to protect the future in this action-packed thriller with a dual narrative.

It’s been nearly two decades since the Red Allies first attacked New York, and Manhattan is now a prisoner-of-war camp, ruled by Rolladin and her brutal, impulsive warlords. For Skyler Miller, Manhattan is a cage that keeps her from the world beyond the city’s borders. But for Sky’s younger sister, Phee, the POW camp is a dangerous playground of possibility, and the only home she’d ever want.

When Sky and Phee discover their mom’s hidden journal from the war’s outbreak, they both realize there’s more to Manhattan—and their mother—than either of them had ever imagined. And after a group of strangers arrives at the annual POW census, the girls begin to uncover the island’s long-kept secrets. The strangers hail from England, a country supposedly destroyed by the Red Allies, and Rolladin’s lies about Manhattan’s captivity begin to unravel.

Hungry for the truth, the sisters set a series of events in motion that end in the death of one of Rolladin’s guards. Now they’re outlaws, forced to join the strange Englishmen on an escape mission through Manhattan. Their flight takes them into subways haunted by cannibals, into the arms of a sadistic cult in the city’s Meatpacking District and, through the pages of their mom’s old journal, into the island’s dark and shocking past.

BOOKIE LOOKIE - I WAS HERE by GAYLE FORMAN

HI EVERYONE!!! I'm Genie and welcome to today's BOOKIE LOOKIE!!! I am very sorry for not posting anything for the last few days. I had problems logging in. Now I wish to haul to you...

                      18879761

I WAS HERE  by GAYLE FORMAN

Until now, I have no idea what the story is about and it took me a while to know that this was Gayle Forman's book (The author of If I Stay ). Since, I haven't read If I Stay, I think  I should paws off from this book. Because I haven't read If I Stay and I want to. But I am sure I'll get it soon.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SYNOPSIS

Cody and Meg were inseparable.
Two peas in a pod.
Until . . . they weren’t anymore.

When her best friend Meg drinks a bottle of industrial-strength cleaner alone in a motel room, Cody is understandably shocked and devastated. She and Meg shared everything—so how was there no warning? But when Cody travels to Meg’s college town to pack up the belongings left behind, she discovers that there’s a lot that Meg never told her. About her old roommates, the sort of people Cody never would have met in her dead-end small town in Washington. About Ben McAllister, the boy with a guitar and a sneer, who broke Meg’s heart. And about an encrypted computer file that Cody can’t open—until she does, and suddenly everything Cody thought she knew about her best friend’s death gets thrown into question.

I Was Here is Gayle Forman at her finest, a taut, emotional, and ultimately redemptive story about redefining the meaning of family and finding a way to move forward even in the face of unspeakable loss.
