ROCK REVIEW (BOOK) - DIVERGENT (DIVERGENT #1) by VERONICA ROTH

HI EVERYONE!!! I'm Genie and welcome to Rock Review (Books). I feel hyped up to review one certain book. If you read my previous review of Mesmerized, lastly, I did say I was currently reading Divergent. Yes...

                       

I don't want say a word but WOW!!! I love this book and I can't wait to read the sequel. It's hard to NOT write in a non-spoilery review. But I would say is WOW, you guys, read it. If not, you are missing out. Trust me it's a good story. Here's the link to my review in Goodreads.

Though, I can't say it's not so spoilery. But if you are a hard-to-be-spoiled person, then read it and you're allowed to read the spoilery review but if you're not that kind of person... You should read it. I just feel really bad to say GET OUT. But to tell you the truth, I just borrowed this book. And read it. So, don't be like me, buy it.


    
SPOILERY REVIEW 

Did you know how hard it is to convince my parents to buy this book for me and when they say they won't I had to borrow it from my friend. Seriously, it sucked. But let's not talk about that.

     Divergent really is fun to read. At the first page, they were talking about choices and stuff like that and the other page and so was the next one... Let me tell you how surprised I was when I read the praises. They all said the same thing 'fast-paced' and 'thrilling'. But honestly, not really fast-paced. I just kept reading and it was only the ending, there was a war stuff. So, I'll give you the criticism.

1. The first page itself held some conversations between Tris and Caleb talking about choices and I thought, WOW, this might really be fast-paced. 
2. And then, there was a few pages of compliments new papers and authors and that fueled up the steam. I was already hyped up for this book.
3. Slow narration. The aptitude test made the narration slow and the Caleb 'betraying' thing and the training and the relationship between Four and Tris. But I also loved their relationship. It's just that, the narration wasn't speeding up, that's all. But it was a little too much. I didn't expect fast love in the first book. But I'd be lying if I really said I HATE TRIS AND FOUR SCENES.
4. Why does Tris keeps losing?!?! I expect her to smack Peter's face or something.
5. I don't know if narrations should be slow in the first book of every trilogy and series but what I do know is that, very slow narrations kinda annoys you.

      Divergent is fun to read and that there were parts where everything became steamy and not all the steamy parts needed fast-paced narration. And I liked it a lot. There are parts which really needs praises for the author. Those were the parts which made me want to buy the sequel for Divergent. Thinking about it every time makes me want to grab it now itself.

1. I love the narration about Tris beating up Molly hard. - Praise for the author - Veronica Roth
2. Tris' narrations were very detailed (which is why the pace isn't so fast) and at times of war, it's really easy for you to understand what the characters were doing. - Praise for the author - Veronica Roth 
3. Steamy relationship between Tris and Four. I love that. The sexy part, that made me flip my page a lot. But because of the overly romance, I think this part the should work a little more. So, sorry but not praises for the other but other than that, the movie deserved praises. I'll post my rock review for movies soon.
4. Emotions made by the characters, you can feel how they feel. - Praise for the author - Veronica Roth 
5. I love the quotes. Plus, the quote at the end of the page made me want to memorize the whole thing. I'm still memorizing though.
